MetCam – Methane Optical Gas Imager
Methane Optical Gas Imaging Camera
MetCam is an innovative Methane Optical Gas Imager designed by CI Systems Limited. MetCam's fully integrated Optical Gas Imaging Camera (OGI) which uses advanced optical technology for methane gas cloud and emissions detection for the oil and gas, energy, and process industries. Through continuous emissions monitoring and Quantifying Optical Gas Imaging (QOGI), this breakthrough technology enhances safety by detecting and alerting about hazardous methane gas clouds round-the-clock. It also quantifies and visualizes gas emissions, providing crucial real-time data that supports faster, data-driven responses. Durable, easy to integrate, and self-calibrating, MetCam is a proven solution for maintaining safety and efficiency at your facility.
MetCam performs three applications in parallel:
MetCam performs three applications in parallel:
- Automatic alarms on the presence of gas clouds exceeding flammable thresholds
- Imaging and quantification of minute leaks
- Situational awareness video
Key Benefits
- Continuous automatic Methane leak detection and emissions monitoring
- Quantifies gas cloud concentration length and size
- Visualizes the gas cloud and source of leak on a visible image/video
- MetCam has a field of view (FOV) of 68 degrees Horizontal and 23 degrees Vertical
- The optimal distance to the monitored area is 20-30 meters. The permissible operating range is 10-50 meters
- Preset warning and alarm levels
- Industry standard 4-20 mA warning and alarm output
- Standard GigE long distance interface with control room
- MetCam is an ONVIF "S" compatible CCTV server to provide situational awareness video stream to operational central control centers
- Automatic incidence recording to internal memory
- Withstands harsh environments, IP66 compliant
- Low cost of ownership and maintenance free device, other than periodical external cleaning
- IECEx: Ex db ia IIB+H2 T5 Gb Certification proved for Zone 1 hazardous areas / explosive atmospheres
Equinox Automation can provide a fully engineered solution to design, integrate and commission the MetCam into facilities using our engineering expertise and can be included in our Performance-Based Fire & Gas Mapping services.
