Background & Challenges 

A major wastewater treatment plant upgrade project needed to verify that all new equipment with moving parts complies with AS/NZS 4024 for Machine Safety Fixed Guarding before commissioning and client handover. 

Equinox Automation was engaged to complete a comprehensive machine safety fix guarding safety assessment during construction, ensuring full compliance with AS/NZS 4024 standards prior to start-up. 

Solution

Our team conducted a detailed site inspection, capturing detailed measurements and photographs of all key equipment and making initial assessment of hazards. 

Each assessment followed AS/NZS 4024 guidance, ensuring alignment with best practice and Worksafe requirements. 

We analyzed findings, identified compliance gaps, and delivered clear, prioritised recommendations to address them early, avoiding handover delays and rework.
